Already having achieved Clubmark Gold, Tennis Ireland’s highest accreditation for the standard of tennis clubs in Ireland, WHBTC were thrilled to win Outstanding Club of the Year at the Leinster Tennis Awards in December.

This award recognises the continuous investment in our club facilities, our inclusive schedule of leagues and events , community outreach programmes such as Parks Tennis & Enjoy Tennis, our ongoing participation in Leinster League events (now both Senior & Junior) and a commitment to player development with our coaching programme.

None of this is possible without our voluntary committees, present and past, who go above and beyond when it comes to having a fantastic club for all of our members to enjoy.
Amanda Whitmore, Tennis Captain commented “This is a proud moment for everyone at Wexford Harbour Boat & Tennis Club! Winning the Leinster Tennis Club of the Year award is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our Committee and Members.  From our players and coaches to the volunteers and supporters who make everything possible, this achievement belongs to all of us. Let’s continue to build on this success and further enhance our fantastic club.”

The event was attended by Bernie Morrissey, Eddie Dempsey, Commodore Jim Staples, Stasia Staples, and Sean Rossiter.  Bernie & Sean were also nominated for Referee of the Year for the Senior Open and Joe Corrigan was also nominated for Volunteer of the Year, for his many years of committee work on behalf of the club.
