Battle of The Clubs
THE BATTLE OF THE CLUBS IS ON! We look forward to Saturday 26th April for The Battle of the Clubs, the first battle, of what we hope will become an annual event between WHBTC & Hillbrook LTC. All games commence at 2pm, please arrive early to warm up. With the exception of the top two teams, all other teams will consist of 2 Men & 2 Ladies with, Mens Doubles, Ladies Doubles, Mixed A & Mixed B. Each match will be 10 games, and the Mens Doubles will be 11 games. Games will be three-point Deuce will be played in all matches. The second deuce point is the deciding point if the game is not won on the first advantage point. Every Team Win = 1 Point on the Leaderboard. In the event of a Tie, there will be a Championship Tiebreak played in the highest class Mens Doubles, with the pair who haven’t played together to determine the overall winner. Easter Tennis Camps
Coach Emil will run Easter Tennis Camps for children from 7+, over the two weeks of the Easter Holidays. This is an ideal way for Junior Members to meet, develop their skills, and make new friends. Non-members of the club are welcome to join Easter Camps so why not bring a friend and introduce them to the game! Talbot Hotel Winter Doubles
The Talbot Hotel Winter Doubles League will commence on Monday 20th January, running for five weeks, until Finals Night on Saturday 22nd February. The League will have Ladies & Gents Doubles with three classes – 2/3, 4/5, and 6/7 – subject to the number of entries. If entries don’t meet the required quota, classes will be merged. Players can choose their own partner or enter with ‘Partner Wanted’ and the Tennis Committee will arrange pairings. To keep the league interesting, players are encouraged to play with someone they don’t ordinarily enter competitions with and are not permitted to enter with anyone they have reached a final with in any competition, internal or external, in 2024. Women’s Little Christmas
UPDATE: Due to poor weather, event has been moved to Friday the 10th January 7pm We look forward to gathering on Monday 6th January for what’s traditionally known as Women’s Little Christmas. Women’s Little Christmas, also known as Nollaig na mBan, is a unique Christmas tradition in Ireland. It takes place on January 6th, marking the end of the Christmas celebrations. On this day, women get together to enjoy their own Christmas while men handle the chores! Enter on Smartclub, and we look forward to seeing you at 7pm.
